St. Colums take to the field in Croke Park
St. Colum’s under 12’s enjoyed the fantastic experience of participating in the half time mini games during the All-Ireland Camogie club finals on March 5th in Croke Park.
Despite the very early morning start to take the trip to Dublin the girls soaked up the atmosphere of the day, and played their hearts out on the field of dreams at half time during the Intermediate club final.
The team played Naomh Brid of Co. Carlow, and the game was very evenly matched. From the goalkeeper right up to the corner forward, the girls in the black and tangerine of St. Colum’s played with great determination and skill. As a result of the great teamwork and commitment St. Colum’s registered the only goal in the game. The game was a closely contested affair and was a fantastic experience to be a part of such an occasion in Croke Park.
Arriving back to Kealkill the team were met by family and friends and the bonfire was lit to welcome home the stars of the day. Everyone in St. Colum’s are so proud of the girls and how hard they worked since finding out they won the competition to participate in Croke Park on All-Ireland club finals day.
